Tools needed for developing apps for .NET Compact Framework in C#

Dear Experts,
I need to develop a simple application with a couple of forms for
Win CE .NET (Compact Framework) using C#. I have with me Visual Studio
..NET 2003 standard edition. However I find only one option under
Wizards for development of mobile apps - "ASP.NET Mobile Web
Application", which is not what I want. MSDN says that there should be
wizards for PocketPC as well as Win CE in VS .NET 2003. Have I missed
out installing some component? Is there any additional plug-in that I
will have to buy? If yes, what is it and is it to be purchased or is it
downloadable from the Microsoft site? Please help me in getting
started. Thanks.

Did you say VS. NET Standard? You need Professional or higher. Then you will
see "Smart Device Application" which is what you want.

If I were in your shoes, I'd wait for VS2005 Standard (CF 2.0) in November
and use the Beta 'till then...

Thank for taking time to reply. I will proceed to purchase a copy
of PRO.

To develope device applications you need to have Professional or above
version of Visual Studio.
