toolbars--turn off?

I just upgraded from Word97 to Word2002. Every time I
open a document, I get three toolbars: Standard,
Formatting, and Reviewing. I DON'T want the Reviewing
toolbar to appear. Is there a way to turn it
off "permanently," so that I don't have to uncheck it
each and every time I open a document? Thanks.

Hi, I posted a similar question a few days ago about the
Web Toolbar and received the following link. Have a look
at the section on Menus and Toolbars. Although the code is
specific to the Web Toolbar, perhaps you can rejig it to
stop any Toolbar opening. (Looks like a good site in many
