Toolbar Icon Spacing

I have 6 different toolbars set up on my taskbar, plus a section for open applications. The taskbar currently shows 4 rows of icons, and the icons vertically total about 20 columns. The issue is how to squash this down so it takes less space, and the logical answer is to squeeze the icons closer together. There is way too much space between them ... nearly double what is necessary. A friend bought a customized "theme", the he has a similar setup with the icons on his toolbars -- but his icons are spaced much closer together (but the icons themselves appear to be about the same size as mine)

I've looked all over, and know how to make the DESKTOP icons smaller, or closer together, but I can't seem to find anywhere that tells me how to squeeze the TOOLBAR icons closer together. There's gotta be a registry entry somewhere, as I've seen it in action. Can anyone help?

Right click one of these toolbars and remove the check mark from the "Show
Text" option.

Text and titles are already turned off. All I have left is icons ... spaced way too far apart.

Right click the Toolbar and make sure that View/Small Icons are selected.

Right click the Desktop and select Properties/Appearance Tab/Advanced
Button. In the Item drop down menu, select Icon Spacing (Horizontal) and set
the value lower. Apply/OK and take a look at the Toolbar to see the results.

Already on "small" icons. Already have tried the icon spacing settings under desktop appearance ... and just as the name implies, those settings affect the DESKTOP icons, NOT the TOOLBAR icons. For grins I just tried it again (and of course had to logoff/logon), with the same result. The toolbar icons don't move

Perhaps I should be more clear. I've got a .jpg (or .bmp, or .gif, whatever) of the toolbar ready, but I'm not sure how to attach it to this post. Please advise.

Guess you need to be a big boy. post the smallest and just of the toolbar.
