tool bar -- search assistant

Does anyone know how to get rid of the tool bar Search Assistant function?
I right-click and un-check it, but then each time I log on it returns.

Disable Search Assistant (Line 15)

I had the same problem, probably a kind of a virus/spy app. Tried lot of things, but I think it was the following which finally got rid of it

regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\omniband.dl
(regsvr32 /u - unregister the server

then remove/rename the file
