TOC

Can anybody help, I have read a few threads about TOC already but I have not
figured it out. I am filling out a state agency document that has a TOC
already formatted and all I have to do is put in my headers like this:
Text
(1) Text 1
(2) Text 2

Question is how can I get page numbers aligned like the above example? I
have tried copying everything to another new doc and using crtl+shift+f9,
inssert+reference+index&tables, but nothing works. Does anybody know since
the TOC was already developed and formatted it is possible?
