Hello Jonathan,
It looks like you may be able to help me solve my problem with 'Audio' in
Messenger.
I have carried out in tools the Video/Audio set up and everything is fine.
I can hear my voice through the Speakers via the Mic. I can send and recieve
Video and type messages with no problem but when I try to connect to Audio
the message at the bottom left of the screen states 'Trying to connect (To
whom I am seeing on video) but after approx 30 secs the message changes to
'Request for audio finished' (Or words to that effect)
I am on 2.3 broadband with Tiscali with their Firewall enabled also XP's
firewall enabled. I have done the full recovery program and gone back to
factory setting on my computer and also reloaded messenger 6.2 but to no
avail. I have downloaded the latest drivers for my sound which is a Avance
AC97 Audio and is a Full Duplex chip.
I await your urgent reply before I go mad.

Hoping in antisipation.

The fact that you can hear your own voice is the key. You should not be
able to hear your own voice, except when running the Wizard. So, this
indicates that your Sound system is misconfigured. To fix: Double click
the Volume control in the Quick Launch and then select Options/Properties,
and then make sure that the MIC IS NOT SELECT IN THE PLAYBACK SECTION. But
IS SELECTED IN THE RECORDING SECTION.
