I am having an excessive amount of build up of .tmp files in my windows\temp
folder. most files start with Acr195.tmp, etc. as an example. I have ran
Ad-aware in safe mode. I have ran AVG in Safe mode, I have ran microsoft
malicious virus check. Nothing exceptional found. These files build at a
rate of 1 file per minute. I have ran norton on-line scan and it says there
is a remacc.radmin virus but does not fix during the on-line scan. I do not
find this particular viruse during a Trend-Micro on-lines scan. However the
Trend-Micro san revealed 2 copies of what they term to be Rap_Generic. They
do not have on-line referenced material to cover this particular find. ?????
The on-line scan does not fix the proble. Also found with Trend-micro
on-line scan is Tspy_servu_Daemon Virus. This is also not fixed with the
On-line scan. Also found by Trend-Micro is Adware_Bhot_e-ventures. this also
is not fixed by the scan. and with all the findings of Trend-Micro, I do not
find a manual way to fix the problem. However I find it perplexing that none
of the product find the same problem. What then, buy all the products and
run them which in not recommended by any of the anti-virus providers?
Does anyone have a solution to this problem, short of start over with a new
installation of XP operating system?
By the way, I have removed thousands of these .tmp files and in a short time
they can use up the harddrive.
