Timeline Problems

I'm baaaaaack!!! But seriously, I just imported a file
into movie maker and I can view it in the preview section
and do all my cuts and everything, but when I drag it
into my timeline it won't play that clip. If I move to
any of the other clips in the timeline it plays, but for
some reason this file won't play except in the preview
which makes it extremely hard for editing. If anyone has
any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

I also tried saving the movie, but it won't save. when I
take out that clip however, it saves perfectly fine.

What kind of clip is it??? MPEG2 and a codec issue?

It's an AVI file and I can play it fine in media player.
Just can't edit it in the timeline or save it for some
reason.

What kind of AVI file? DV-AVI from a camcorder, or an AVI file compressed
with a Divx or other codec?

Hi there,

Can I suggest that you feed it through any other software you have and save it
to a file with a different name (of course) It is not impossible for the data
field at the beginning of the clip is corrupt and MM2 fails to read it. MM2 is
perhaps a little pedantic about things like this. Feeding it through something
that will cope maybe your answer......
