Time Server Error

Hi.
I have just reformatted my pc (XP Pro service patch 2 and updated all
patches ) and still can not time syc using the:-
time.windows.com the error says Time sample was rejected because the peers
stratum is less than the host's stratum. Ok, i have no idea what it means,
but i accept what its saying.
And using the time, nist.gov just says, An error occurred while windows was
syncing with nist.gov.
I have tried going to another time zone and the same errors happen.
I dont know how to sync with another time server, so haven't tried that, but
have read the other posts about the time sync errors, and tried the various
suggestions.
Many thanks for any advice given.

Had the problem myself regarding internet time not updating.

I came up with this:

A list of the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) time servers that are available on the
Internet

Just type the address you want (or copy and paste) in the combo listbox.
No registry editing.

Then update.

Worked for me.
