Time Limit for RAS Connection?

Guest

I'm using Windows 2000 Server and have the RAS service configured to accept
incoming calls from my sales reps laptops.

I'm having a problem with my sales reps forgetting to disconnect from the
RAS. I came in this morning and had to disconnect a 6 hour connection. I've
been trying to determine a way to make the server automatically disconnect
the call after 30 minutes. Is this even possible?

The Auto Disconnect parameter on the client side will not work for me.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

these tips are very vague. It says to create a policy, I've looked all
through the remote access policies and can't find anything there.

Thanks!

Hi,
You can create a remote access policy and in the Dial-in constraints tab,
you will have two checkboxes against 'Session timeout' and 'Idle timeout'.
You can select this checkbox and specify the time here. Session timeout is
used to disconnect the user after the specified time irrespective of whether
there is activity over the connection or not. Idle timeout is used to
disconnect the user if the connection is idle for the specified time.
In case you need help with setting up the policies, please feel free to let
me know. I can help you in that.
