"Thumbnails" Cause Windows Explorer to Crash

Generation of Thumbnail views (instead of detail or list
views) cause Windows Explorer to generate an error message
and then close. Also happens sometimes with Adobe
Photoshop and other programs. The computer is 2 years old
and has never had this problem before. Any suggestions?

Right Click a jpg file | Select properties | Photoshop image Tab | uncheck
Generate Thumbnails

A. I want to generate thumbnails. B. There is
no "Photoshop image tab" under properties anywhere for
a ".jpg" file. C. It mostly happens with video
thumbnails, which I should have mentioned first of all.
