This is goofy! My Computer window has lost the default XP view!

All of a sudden both My Compute and My Network Places can only be viewed with
the usual five choices for any folder--details, list, icons, tiles and
thumbnails. Where is that nice default view that came with Windows, where
the items are all grouped by section together--all the hard drives, all the
other disks, all the printers, etc? I have taken it so much for granted that
I can't even describe it properly! I hope someone knows what I mean because
I'd like to get it back.

Thank you--I sometimes wonder how things like this happen because to the
best of my knowledge I didn't change anything that would have caused this.
Somehow they got sorted by name. Oh well.

Kelley, I must ask, who was Alex Nichol? I have come to really value the
help of MVPs such as yourself. Without all of you Windows would be a real
mystery to most of us who just want to send a few emails, browse the web and
play some good music with our systems.

I'm not Kelly, but here's a link about Alex:

Thank you--I read the tributes and his comments about the cancer. He must
have been a giant among MVPs and more than that, the set of kind and generous
human beings--those who will constantly help strangers through the reservoir
of their hard-won experience and knowledge.

Thank you, Malke.
