Things have fallen apart!

Hi guys

Sorry to bother you all.

I've had a home network set up for the few years, win2k peering with
98 etc.

Just recently things have fallen apart, now nothing sees nothing! I've
reinstalled tcp/ip, put in a new 3com card, nothing seems to work.

My hub and cables are OK, even trying to ping the m/c's from each
other doesn't work (timed out).

Any ideas gratefully received.

Best regards
Tony

Do you expect any responses after describing your problem as
*fallen apart*.

Start with one machine and deal thorughly with it first and work "outward".

Get on the 98 machine and check the network configuration. Static address?
It is the correct one? Using DHCP? What address is the machine getting? Can
the machine ping 127.0.0.1? Can it ping its own actual IP#? Only when these
portions of it work perfectly do you even worry about the rest of the
network.
