Something appears to be wrong with the thesaurus in Word
2000. When I look up the word "dog", for instance,it
treats the word only as a verb, so I don't get "hound"
or "puppy", etc. When I look up synonyms for "dispatches",
all it comes up with is "dispatch".

Any ideas?

All that's wrong with it is that it doesn't have all the words you might
want, so for dog it has only the verb. For dispatches, this word is a
plural, so did you try looking up dispatch?

Should you get around to Word 2003, you additionally have the option to
check against on-line sources, should you not know that a dog could be a
hound ;)

So you have a thesauraus with an extremely limited
vocabulary. What good is that? This is a company-provided
application, so I won't be getting Word 2003 any time soon.
(By the way, I looked up memo and dispatch, and got
nothing.)

Word 2003's meager thesarus is essentially
useless to people used to working with a
competent thesarus.

Visit http://wordweb.info/ for info on
WordWeb Pro. It will set you back
$20 but it's worth every penny. I'm
a very happy client. It works well with
Word 2002 and 2003.
