Thesaurus?

I am using Word97. In the past, when a word was highlighted and right
clicked, it prompted a list of menus including thesaurus. After
reformatting my computer and reinstallation of MS Office 97/SR-2, MS Word97
lost this function. Could someone tell me how to recover the thesaurus
function? I am wondering whether the thesaurus option requires a patch or
not. Please let me know what patch do I need.
Thanks. Satoshi

Interesting. I have both 97 and higher versions installed. 97 does not have it. But 2000 does. Are you sure you had 97 installed and not 2000

You can download WordWeb thesaurus (free) from
http://wordweb.info/

It's much more powerful than the skimpy Word thesaurus,
Gives definitions, and you can replace a highlighted
word in Word by pressing Ctrl-Alt-W. It works
seamlessly with Word and offers so much more.
I'm not affiliated with the company in any way. I
bought the Pro download-to-hard drive version
for $19.00.

Download and try the program. You'll like what you
see.

That's correct. I recall using right-click for thesaurus. I think there
was a small program which was probably from microsoft site. My memory if
fuzzy. That's why I posted this question. Satoshi

Word 97 *does* include the thesaurus, as attested by the KB article “WD97:
Proofing Tools Do Not Function As Expected†at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=236394, which deals with, among other
things, the problem of the thesaurus not offering any synonyms.
