There are four safe boot options. Which one should I chose?

In order to solve the problem in KB837334, I need to boot the computer in
safe mode and modify the registry. There are four options such as
SAFEBOOT_OPTION=Minimal SAFEBOOT_OPTION=Network
SAFEBOOT_OPTION=Minimal(AlternateShell And VGA . Which one should I chose?

I think that you should choose "Minimal"... But where are you getting those
options (adding something to boot.ini?)?

Normaly, you press F8 before Windows starts and gets a menu. You can then
choose "Safe Mode".

Hi

Use SAFEBOOT_OPTION=Minimal - the other Minimal(AlternateShell...) option
starts with cmd.exe

Do it in plain safe mode, and do take a back up of the registry, (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT)
like creating a system restore point from regular mode.

If you need network support then you would use network, otherwise just
use minimal. AlternateShell will just get you a command prompt, and you
can do your stuff from there, but you don't need to go to that low a level.

Usually Minimal. Network can be useful if you want the restricted Safe
mode but still have Network access. Alternate Shell uses (I think)
Cmd.exe instead of the Explorer.exe desktop - you get it in an F8 boot
as 'Safe Mode - Command Prompt', and it is useful, accessed that way,
if something is stopping the desktop from loading, eg you can run system
restore from it
