Themes & Tables

J

JCO

After creating my web, I want to dress it up a bit by adding a Theme. I
made all the tables invisible (borders match background... usually white).
However, when applying a theme, the borders become visible because they
remain white while the theme changes the background.

I was under the impression that when you add the theme, it will take tables
into consideration, therefore, not making them re-appear. How do I force
the tables to be invisible when the background theme has multiple colors.

Thanks

The table borders are control by the themes, you have to modify the theme,
then save under a new name, remove the current theme, then apply the
modified theme.

I did manage to change on of the tables to have a border equal to zero.
This worked on one page only. I can't change the other borders to zero on
the other pages for some reason.

I will look into the theme modification.

I see how to modify a theme and save it. I don't see how to modify the
table properties within a theme so that it will be completely invisible (my
desired effect).

JCO,

Depending on how you are applying the theme, with or without CSS, you may
need to modify the color0.css and color1.css files under the theme's name
folder. The filenames could be different depending on the version of FP.

Editing either of those will not affect the theme
- they will be restored to the originals from the theme .elm file as soon as you recalc hyperlinks
The only way to edit a theme in FP is to modify it and save it as a new theme name
Table Border colors are in the Modify/Customize - Colors - Custom tab

After you modify your theme table border colors (see my post below)
- from the menu Table Insert Table and set the defaults you want and then check the option to make this your default (then create
all new tables using Table Insert Table)

Before I read this email, I directly edited the html. I hope that does not
cause problems but I did get the desired effects that I wanted.
