The Vista serial # sticker on the bottom

I have a laptop that is about three months old. The Vista product key is
worn off--all but the first four alpha-numerics.

Belarc gives me both the numeric (numbers-OEM-numbers) and the long
alpha-numeric number. It does not start out the same.

The question is can I upgrade from Home Premium to Ultimate using JUST the
internal numbers I have? It is a Toshiba OEM license.
Thanks,
Seth

On retail computers, the key that was used to install Windows rarely, if
ever, is the same as the key on the sticker. They (the computer
manufacturer) turn out thousands of computers with a single hard drive
image, so they all have a single key. What you might need the key for would
be in the event you need to reinstall Windows. You won't need it for an
upgrade. I would contact Toshiba and explain the problem, they may be able
to retrieve or replace the key you need in the event of an emergency.
