The same automatic update repeating over and over

The icon appears in my system tray that says I have an update. I click on it
and it says it is installing a security update for microsoft .net version 1.1
service pack 1. i have installed this at least 10 times and it keeps showing
up in the system tray. How do I stop this from happening.

If you uncheck the update in the automatic update screen, it will prompt you
to never show this update again. That will stop the update from showing.
