The recipients see attachements in HTML messages as winmail.dat?

Normally this kind of problem appears with rtf-messages. However, I sent the
message as html. Many webmail-programs and email clients of other wendors get
then winmail.dat attachement and can't open the real attachements. The
receive the winmail.dat attachement in every case, even I when I don't send
them an attachement at all.

Only changing the message to plain text helps.

Is there any other solution?

What version of Office/Outlook are using?

Any 3rd party addins installed that integrate/use Outlook? (e.g. Fax, PDA,

Hi,

Outlook 2007 (12.0.6212.1000) SP1 MSO (12.0.6213.1000).

And now I realized, that even plain text does not help in some cases. As I
read the other threads, there was something about contacts and their
rtf-settings - but I can't find any email settings (other than the address
itself) for contacts.

Shit, now I found it, just double click on the email addres just like you
wrote somewhere else... But why has it changed, as I have newer used
rtf....? Must have been during upgrade 2003->2007?

And next question: How do I change all 600 contacts at once - I would not
like to go clickeing on all of them...

Did you use Import any time during this process?

Hi again,

now I think I really know what's the problem: When I create a new contact,
outlook makes it by default "send using rtf-format" property. Question 1: How
can I make it by default "Let outlook decide which is the best format"
address.

Secondly I have in Options-> Mail Format->Message format: Compose in this
message format: HTML, and in Internet Format: When sending rtf-messages use
this format: Convert to HTML.
However, that does not change the format!
Question2: Is this a bug or don't I know how to use this?

regards TS
