The pie symbol from maths

B

b1b2b3

I need to know how to add the pie symbol into my word document. I'
pretty sure it would be in the insert symbol things but I can't reall
be bothered looking through all of it. I was hoping that someone coul
tell me exactly where it is located so I don't have to go lookin
through all the symbols.

Note: The pie symbol is used in maths and physics. It has two straigh
lines with a curved line above. If you need more information about wha
I mean then please ask.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The spelling of that symbol is pi. Pie is something that one eats. Sorry,
but I'm too busy to look for the symbol for you.

It would have taken you less time to look for that to wait for irubin's
crappy webpage to open, let along compose the post.

Despite you disrespecting our time with your "I can't
really be bothered looking through all of it" comment,
and being a nice guy,I looked up the symbol for pi for
you. It's p.

Insert > Symbol > Choose Symbol Font > find pi
p symbol (this will take a few seconds of your time)
Highlight pi > Click insert button. Voila! There are
other approaches, but I really can't be bothered writing
about them.

you. I found it in the symbol font. It may in other
fonts as well, but I can't be bothered researching
the 843 fonts on my system. Time is persishable...

Insert > Symbol > Choose "Symbol" Font > find pi
symbol (this will take a few seconds of your time)
Highlight pi > Click insert button. Voila! There are

I also find the "Symbol Font Lookup" too time consuming. Why not use the
ASCII decimal character 227? Hold down the ALT key then type 227 on the
KEYPAD, for Pi ( ? ) and you don't have to look through any fonts.

Other handy ASCII characters are Alt-155 ( ¢ ) cents and Alt-241 ( ± ) plus
or minus and Alt-248 ( ° ) degrees.

Word has built-in shortcuts for ¢ (Ctrl+/, c) and ° (Ctrl+@, Spacebar).

The Greek pi can also be typed with Alt+960 (if Greek letters are available in the font).
