The page cannot be displayed

We have an intranet site (Physical URL) and a DNS setting
that is set-up to redirect to the Physical URL below
when the Logical URL is used. Sometimes our users get
"The page cannot be displayed" when trying to hit the
Logical URL. If they cycle their DNS client they are
able to hit the Logical URL. But sometime in the future,
maybe the next day they see the same problem again. Does
anyone know what would cause this behavior?

Physical URL:
http://machinename/intranet

Logical URL:
http://someURL

Sounds to me like DNS has multiple records for machinename and is using
round robin to hand them out.
Remove the additional records or have IIS listen on all addresses.
If this is your AD domain name let me know post back with an ipconfig /all
and the number of DCs I'll give you additional info that must be done to
keep AD working.
