The Outlook 2007 update corrupts datafile

I installed the recent update for Outlook 2007 to speed up Outlook. Now
everytime I start Outlook it says the datafile has been corrupted and it
starts repairing the file. After several minutes the file is OK. This has
happened day after day for several days now. It seems the update has made
Outlook speed things up a bit to much so when I shut down outlook it corrupts
the datafile.... :-/

Nope, that's not it. Have you tried running scanpst.exe against your
pst-file already? Also make sure that the outlook.exe actually stops after
you close Outlook and before shutting down your computer. If it doesn't see;

Where is the scanpst.exe located?
I have Process Explorer and as far as I can see the Outlook process shuts
down after I close Outlook. Not immediately, but perhaps after a minute or
so. Any other processes I should look for?

To answer myself: Its in program files\Microsoft Office\Office12

I am running it now and I have also double-checked that outlook.exe actually
closes when outlook is quit, and it does not appear in processlist, so I can
only conclude that Outlooks is not hanging after exit.

To complete the story. I repaired my pst file using scanpst like Roady
suggested, and now when I start Outlook the error is gone. I can only assume
if will not appear again tomorrow (or the next working day).

Roady: Thank you! Your answer has been marked "helpful" ;-)

Bad news! :-(

The last three times I've started Outlook the datafile has been corrupt.
Seems the scanpst only fixed the file once, and now its broken again.

I am running a clean install of Outlook 2007 (non-english). My pst file is
approx 1.1 GB.

I have installed the following addins:
Plaxo
Google Desktop Outlook Toolbar
LinkedIn Outlook Toolbar
iTunes Outlook Toolbar
PDFMOutlook
(some additional Microsoft COM-addons)

These "datafile corrupt each time Outlook is closed"-problems occurred after
installing the Outlook Update (KB933493). I notice now that the download is
not available in my installed language.
