the operation failed. An object could not be found

In Outlook 2003 I have one series of reoccuring appointments that I cannot
open or delete and receive the following error "Can't open this item. the
operation failed. An object could not be found." This is the only series I
get this error on. Any ideas? I have tried the Detect and Repair and I am
going through an Exchange 2003 server.

I saw the same issue on two laptops where I work. I spent days researching
this problem with no solution. What it appeared to be was a problem with the
cached forms and the KB said to do "clear cache" and that didn't work for me.
I have since come up with a solution to the problem. You need to physically
delete the cached form file from your profile. Outlook with regenerate the
file when you run it again.

Close outlook and delete this file:

c:\documents and settings\user profile\local settings\application
data\microsoft\forms\frmcache.dat
