We have just discovered the problem with a second user
opening the same copy of an ADP.

"ACC2002: "The Database Will Be Opened Read-Only" Error
Message When Users Try to Open a Project or Extension File
in a Multiuser Environment"

We have just deployed a terminal server centralized ADP
solution and need a way of turning this message off when
the second user fires up the adp from the server. The KB
say this is by design as a client server app. Well, that
just doesn't work in a centralized solution environment.

Any workarounds out there.

You should give each user his own copy of the ADP/ADE file. Put it into the
user's directory.

Another option is to use the /runtime switch. This limits the
capabilities fo the user but provides the ability to maintain a single
application.

However, Access has at least one bug that I know of, to which the only
solution is making the file read-only (it's not so trivial to describe here,
but if you are interested, I can provide the details).

This message does not appear with the runtime version of Access; so if you
have MOD, configure the shortcut accordingly.
