the logon welcome screen

Jim

I have a newer PC system with XP Home and have 3 user
accounts, with one as administrator. In the user accounts
in control panel it does show these, and the option
for "use the welcome screen" is selected so it's enabled.
But when I bootup the computer it does not show the
welcome screen, the clasic logon box is displayed. I also
have this PC in a home network with one other computer. At
the Microsoft article it said that the welcome screen
multi-user logon is not supported if on a domain, is being
on a home network considered on a domain ? And how to fix
this so I can use the welcome logon type screen, thanks.

Hi Ji

If I'm not mistaken, as soon that you have more than one user on the system, the logon box has to be shown as to know and register who wants in the system. Why would you like to have the welcome screen to show instead, as there is nothing but the blue screen and the welcome text in it

Hi Jim,

Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords
Change the way....and check off both boxes.

If that doesn't help and if you are not using PCA or Netware:

Enable the Welcome Screen (Line 80)

The "Welcome" Logon Screen Does Not Appear

If you are receiving Gina.dll error messages:

Restore the Windows XP Welcome Screen (Gina.dll)
