The file Outlook.pst is not a personal folders file

I recently reloaded WinXP on my home machine. I burnt a copt of my
outlook.pst file and address book onto a CD as a backup.

I am now trying to load the outlook.pst and address book file back onto the
hard drive but I keep getting the error that the outlook.pst is not a
personal folders file.

I have removed the "read-only" attribute and also tried the SCANPST app but
that also tells me that the outlook.pst is not recognised.

Can anybody help me with the problem please?

Thanks

Did you test the CD after you burned your backup? If you burned it while
Outlook was still open than you've corrupted it beyond repair for
scanpst.exe and you'll need to use a thirdparty recovery tool;
