I am trying to map a network drive using a share point
that is supposedly readable by "everyone" and I keep
getting an error message that says:
The network folder specified is currently mapped using a
different user name and password. to connect using a
different name and password, first disconnect any existing
mappings to this network share.

I do not have this share point mapped. I did have other
shares on that server mapped but I disconnected them and
still can't map it.
any help???
thanks

If the client you are connecting from is a Windows XP machine, take a look at 812793 Cannot Map a Network Drive Under
Different User Credentials http://support.microsoft.com/?id=812793.

Ok, so now that I've read Q812793, what do I do? My computer is an HP, and microsoft won't provide support. All I need is the patch, but NO, I can't get it. So where can I find it? Thanks.
