The Common Tasks Pane

In the main My Documents window the top "common tasks" are Music Tasks.
Should it not be File and Folder Tasks?
In My Pictures, also, the Common Tasks pane shows Music Tasks.) Should it
not be Picture Tasks?
Is this the way it is on everyone's Windows XP (Sp2 with WMP 10) system?
I'm suspecting that WMP 10 is causing strange behavior in Windows Explorer.

Thanks for the link. It looks as if Doug has identified the problem as a
missing or corrupted desktop.ini file. However, his fix involves using the
Address Bar and I am for some reason unable to bring up the Address Bar.
I've clicked on View / Toolbars and then put a check mark by Address Bar,
but nothing changes. Is this all a part of the corruption of the system
folder attributes?
Would running System File Checker replace a missing or corrupted
desktop.ini?
Is there a problem with SFC "restoring" a pre-SP2 and a pre-WMP10
desktop.ini file?

OK, Patti. I did figure out how to display the Address Bar.
I checked the desktop.ini files for each of the system folders, and they are
correct. So, apparently, the problem is not a corrupted desktop.ini.
Thanks, however, for your suggestion. Any others?

William, I am deeply obliged to you for your help. The fix described by
Keith Miller worked like a charm. Now the Common Tasks are appropriate for
each folder type. Thanks to you for pointing me to it, to Keith for writing
it, and to Kelly for posting it on her site.

Sorry I wasn't able to return to your thread last night, as I am working
nightshift this week (no internet access at work).
I'm glad to see that you did get the problem sorted :)

Regards,
