THE BEST KEPT SECRETS OF THE COMPUTER UNDERGROUND:

Hackers are the equivalent in my world of a vandal. He/she throws a rock
through a window because they know how. Knowledge is how you beat them, and
if you can't do it on your own, you get the tools to do it. example: A
firewall can isolate a threat and in most cases illuminate it so fast, I may
not even know I've had the threat.

You give too much credit to vandals, you're probably smarter than that.

PLEASE GET YOUR TERMINOLOGY CORRECT! Although you are using the word
"hackers", you are not talking about hackers; you are talking about
crackers. Hackers are the type that do things like figure out how to
convert a nibble in the AL register into a hexadecimal digit with six
bytes of code and no conditional jumps[1] on an 80x86 computer. Crackers
are the types that like to break into others' computers and mess around
with them or hijack them for criminal purposes (such as sending spam).

You are correct... even if they just change the time on your computer.

Don't profess to, unless I work for you. I am not paranoid of hackers is
all I'm saying. If I were that paranoid, I would just use the off button.

again you show your naivity, you think turning your computer off
would stop someone hacking it? pssh.
And for the record, dont top post.

And for the record, please remove at least the virus newsgroups from
this endless cross-posted useless drivel.

For the record, Art, why is YOUR "alt" group any better than my(TINM)
"alt" group. Should yours receive less drivel? If so, why should it
receive less drivel?

"alt" group. Should yours receive less drivel? If so, why should it

The subject is the endlessly recurring Debbie/Tracker trolling
nonsense. Regulars in acv and aca-v tend to completely ignore her
crap. But I notice that certain regulars in other newgroups have a bad
habit of not only responding but cross posting as well. And they feel
compelled to endlessly save the world from Debbie by issueing warnings
about her and cracking jokes about her, etc., ... cross posted. Adding
such noise in one newsgroup is bad enough but propagating the noise to
other newsgroups is a _terribly_ inconsiderate and stupid practice.

So my plea (for whatever good it will do) is to please quit cross
posting responses to Debbie/Tracker trolls, for one thing. If you feel
compelled to save the world from Debbie, please limit your response to
a simple one or two sentence warning and be done with it.

Thanks Art.....I agree 200% and you were much more polite than I almost was,
but I deleted it. I am sick and tired of seeing all the yahooing going on
about how they shut down her site (which is not a bad thing, grin).....or
how dumb she is.....that's a given, etc.

Hey, QR......give us a break. We don't give a damn about Debbie, Trackers
or ferrets....(G)

Oh please. I hope you are quite old, you seem to be getting thicker by the
second, and at this rate youll be a vegetable in a few days.
You show a complete misunderstanding of hacking and a completly tunneled
view.
