Anyone able to recommend a freeware 'text to html' programme?
I want to convert plain text or word doc files to html. Don't want to us MS
Word's built in html converter due to the bloated code it generates.
Thanks

Save Word files as "Web page filtered". Load the html into
Dreamweaver MX and use "Commands, Clean up Word HTML", followed
by "Commands, Clean up HTML" - to remover Span and Div, then it
should just involve a few more simple global search and replaces
to completely get rid of the remaining bloat.
The quickest way I have of turning text into HTML is to just
paste it into an new blank GoLive HTML file in layout mode and
then to remove all the <br>s. That doesn't work with Dreamweaver
because it doesn't create <p>s like GoLive does.
Of course, this is all sacrilidge, talking about commercial apps
in this forum.
