Text shows in noremal view but is missing in preview and print

when editing a document from another user, the changes I make show on the
normal view in Word but are missing in the Preview mode and/or Printed sheets.

Review says that there are no tracked changes. I have hit the accept
changes and final. It always looks fine on the screen but text is missing
later.

The only way I can get my words to appear is to place the curson before the
suspect text, hit enter and then the left arrow button (to get back on the
previous line). Then retype the words, then hit the delete button until all
of the suspect text is gone (if I try to select the suspect text by
hi-lighting, it will not work). Then the text I retyped will show in preview
and print.

Any thoughts?
