Text on buttons disappear

Fonts disappear on the Start button. Buttons on windows dont show any text.
Most of the times XP would not respond when this happens. The only way is to
hard boot the laptop. Reinstalling XP Home doesnot help.

This happens randomly and Event log does not have any warnings or errors, No
virus activity as i have tested with McAfee and NAV scanners installed. Here
are the links for screenshots.

When you say "reinstalling XP Home did not help", did you do a clean
install (or OEM restore to factory condition) or a Repair Install? If
you did the former and that didn't help, the problem may be caused by
failing hardware. The randomness is indicative of failing hardware,
also. If you just did a Repair Install, then it is possible that this is
a software problem and isn't as random as you think. There's no way for
us to tell since we can't see your computer.

Since this is a laptop your troubleshooting/repair options are limited,
but here are some general hardware troubleshooting steps that may have
some applicable items for you:

Your next step really depends on the age of the laptop, whether it is
still under warranty, and what the laptop mftr.'s tech support has to say.
