Is it possible to centre text vertically in a label or text box ?

Yes. Normally you have icons on your toolbar for this. When in
design-view, simply click the "Center" icon which is probably near the
"Bold" "Underline" "Italics" buttons. You can also do this in the
properties box for the control. The property is called "Text Align".
