Text hyperlinks in PP97

Suzanne Knapp

When a presentation saved in Presentation format by PP 2000 is run with PP
Viewer 97, the text hyperlinks to a designated slide within the presentation
don't work - they go to the next slide instead of to the one designated.
Graphic hyperlinks are fine. All hyperlinks work when the presentation is
run with PP Viewer 2003. Is that the expected behavior, or should the links
work in PP 97?

Thanks for your help.

Your text objects have been grouped. The hyperlinks will work if you simply
ungroup the text. Hyperlinks on grouped objects do not work in PowerPoint 97 or
in the PowerPoint 97 Viewer.

Sonia,

They weren't grouped - I had already run into that one - but they were in a
table. Maybe items in a table are grouped automatically? Anyway I moved
them into text boxes and that fixed it. Thanks.

PPT2000 tables are treated as collections of grouped shapes in PPT97.

QED ;-)

Anyway I moved
them into text boxes and that fixed it. Thanks.
