I have a form that I need to change the colour on some text boxes depending
on the data stored in the DB if the value is 0 then it want to be
transparent, if there is a -1 in the database then I need it to be displayed
in red, the problem I have is that the data I am trying to display is in
details section of the form it for X number of enginers over N days so i
need some code or a way to control the text box directley so do ehat I need
it to do.

Open the form in Design View.
On the menu bar, click Format - Conditional Format.

I don't think you'll be able to make the text transparent, but you can make
it the same color as the background.

it is a continues for and I can get the values out of the database for the
relivant enginer, so it shows 0 or -1 all I need to do now is figer out how
to set the back ground colour so that it is is transparent or red..

and also set the forwared colour to the same as the back ground.]
If that is a helpfull explanation.

Have you looked at Conditional Formatting, as I suggested?

If you don't understand how to use it, read about it in the Help file.

If you still have questions, please post back with details.
What have you entered in Conditional Formatting?
What result did you get?
What result did you want?
Did you get an error message?
If yes, what was it?
