Terminal Services does not work

Hello,

After installing MS04-011 our terminial services does not
work. The service states that it is automatic and Started
yet you are unable to Stop or Start it, hung.

Removed and installed TS in remote mode on our Windows
2000 server file server using Cluster services.
Everything was fine until the patch. Have research the MS
site and others but no reference to 04-011 and Terminal
services not working.

Your help is appreciated!

The fact that you can't stop or restart the Terminal Services
service is by design. See:

278657 - Terminal Services Cannot Be Manipulated
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=278657

Thsi newsgroup has a lot of posts about this problem. Solution is
to remove the Certificates parameters from the registry. Described
in detail here:

323597 - Windows XP Clients Cannot Connect to a Windows 2000
Terminal Services Server

I am also getting the same problem when I installed the
patch pointed out in KB835732 (aka MS04-011). Now
Terminal Services won't work. I check to see if the
server is listening to the port on 3389 (default port) and
it is. I even tried to do a telnet to that port without
any problems.

Is anyone else having the same kind of problem? Todd, are
you running a Win2k SBS server?
