Terminal Server Question

Joshua Graham

I have one user that cannont log onto our Terminal Server from anywhere.
This user was married and her named changed and all this was done in Active
Directory, however, everytime she tries to log on to the Terminal Servershe
gets this error:

Windows cannot log you on because the profile cannot be loaded. Contact your
network administrator.

DETAIL - The system has attempted to load or restore a file into the
registry, but the specified file is not in a registry file format.

This user does not have any problems logging onto any other computer or
another Test Terminal Server I setup. She is only having trouble logging
into our main Terminal Server.

I have looked in Microsoft's knowledgebase and I have not found any answers.
I would appreciate any help.

Thanks
Josh

Her profile is corrupt. It may just be the ntuser.dat, so what you could try is -

1. Backup her profile to another location
2. Delete the contents of the profile from the profile folder
3. Logon as the user - it should work now
4. Copy portions of the profile back into place until you get the error again.

If there is nothing much of value in her profile, just whack the profile and that should do it.
