Can anyone please help?
I've created a 'Design template' and formatted the text size and
colour requirements for the slide header (36point Bold) and body text
(28 point)
When I import slides from another presentation I loose the text
formatting in the new presentation using my design template (and no, I
have not checked the 'retain format' for the imported slides - fell
for that one several times!) - Header text reduces to 28 point
(Normal) and Body text reduces to 26 (Normal).
What am I doing wrong?

This can happen depending on the formatting of the imported slides. Try
Format - Layout - Reapply layout. Which version of PowerPoint do you use?

Best regards,

Quite possibly, not a thing. Try reapplying the slide layout to the slides
after you've inserted them. (You can select multiple slides in the slide
pane on the left and then apply the slide layout to apply it to all selected
slides at once.)
