Template

Everytime I open a new document based on a template I've
just saved, it opens in Web layout. I did NOT save the
template in web layout, my NORMAL.DOT is NOT in web
layout and my EMAIL.DOT is NOT in web layout.
What is wrong, why does word open documents in web layout
when the documents are saved in print layout.
I've tried just about everything, deleting the
normal.dot, open and close normal and email.dot and it IS
in print layout.
What is Word doing to these documents, why the ... does
Word change my documents. It's no use just switching
layout as the format and lots of stuff is changed from
the original template, just because Word opens the
document wrong.
Do I have to install office again to get rid of this
problem. New documents from the normal.dot are ok, only a
problem when I make a template.
Can anybody help.

What's in your template? Certain elements only apply to web layout--for
instance, if you included a background via Format | Background, since that
Background will *only* show up for the web, Word naturally assumes you want
the doc in web layout. Might something like that be going on?
