Template with scroll down menus?

I am looking for a way to create a template form with possible scroll down
menus for items that come back regularly / limited lists of items. I want to
create a form for my lesson plans. For all my lessons, I need to include
standards (more than one) and assessments, both of which are limited lists
(but substantial enough that I don't want to type them all over and over
again). Is it possible to do this in a Word document? If not, any suggestions?

It could be that AutoTextList fields would do what you want. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/AutoTextList.htm. Or just AutoText in
general (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/AutoText.htm).
