Template / Envelope font help

G

Guest

I have Word 2007 - I have created a letterhead template, and when I click on
"mailings" and then "Envelopes" to create my envelope, it is double spacing
the return address and the delivery address. My template font is NOT set to
double spacing, and I can't find any paragraph settings for the envelope
other than the standard "font" settings. What am I over-looking?

Any help on how to get this to stop double-spacing the text in the Envelope
window would be great! (For the record, if I create a new blank document and
go to make an envelope, it does not double space.) Does this make any sense?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, Tori,

This is controlled by the Envelope Address style.
1.. In the Home ribbon, click the Style launcher in the lower right corner of the Styles section (or press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S).
2.. In the Style list, find Envelope Address, right-click it and choose Modify.
3.. In the Modify Style dialog, lower left corner, click Format - Paragraph.
4.. In the Paragraph dialog, under Spacing, set Before and After both to 0. While you're there, ensure that Line Spacing: is set to Single.
5.. Click OK.
6.. Back in the Modify Style dialog, if you want this change to affect all envelopes from now on, click to enable New documents based on this template, at the bottom of the dialog box.
7.. Click OK.

If prompted later on, say Yes to saving changes to the template (usually Normal.dotm in Word 2007).

Thank you so much, That was exactly what I was looking for!

I know 2007 didn't really "take away" anything from the prev. versions, it's
just all so... organized :)

Thanks again!

Herb: I am having the same issue! When I click the right corner of the
Styles section, Envelope Address does not come up as an option. Do you have
any other suggestions? Thanks, Scott

Chances are you aren't showing all styles. Click the Options link at the
bottom of the Styles pane and in the Style Pane Options dialog box under
Select Styles to Show, select All Styles.
