temp files

troubled

Is there any reason not to delete all the .tmp files in
Windows 2000 Server directory c:\winnt\temp? They are
eating all my disk space and I really don't know where
they come from...

Thanks for your help.

As long as you reboot just prior to deleting, you can delete all files and subfolders in temp. If a file is in use Windows will prevent it from being deleted. The reboot first is in case anything has been installed that needs to finish after a reboot with the deferred files stored in the temp folder.
