My boyfriend and I are assembling a new PC
with 2 gigabytes of RAM, a 3.6 Pentium 4,
an ASUS motherboard, and Windows XP Home.
We're at the point of adding the RAM SIMMs
(memory chips?) to the new motherboard.
The motherboard's manual says to install the
memory chips in pairs. We have four 512 MB
SIMMs but don't know how to tell the male
SIMMs from the female SIMMs. It's not obvious.
Please advise.
Do we put in two male SIMMs in slot A and
two female SIMMs in slot B? Or, do we put
one male and one female SIMM in slot A, and
repeat this for slot B?
Thanks for your advice. Love to all.
