HI
I am running Windows XP pro
I have an A7N8X-E with NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 40
I have an Intel 536 EP mode
I have Plantronics audio 60. headset with microphone
I plugged the headset into the sound card. The earphones work for music, etc. and the microphone works in Word for Speech Recognition, etc. so I know that both are getting into the sound card.
The problem is that even though the modem is a d/fax/voice modem the voice part does not work with the microphone headset .While I can connect a phone and use it after it connects
Also when in Outlook if I use Outlook to dial a number, again I can neither hear nor speak through the headset although I can pick up a landline and then hit the end call button
I can find no telephony on my control panel, they people who sold me the computer are less than useless.
I did try configuring the Tapi gateway, but that seemed to do nothing
I presume this is a software problem, and none of the hardware suppliers seem to want to help or take the blame
