TCP/IP Properties blank

Running Vista Ultimate on a Netgear ADSL router.

I have a strange problem developed, I normally run on a manually configured
IP address of 192.168.0.215, now when I go into TCP/IP properties, the IP
and Subnet are blank. If I enter the address the PC connects but when I come
back to look at TCP/IP properties, the information is blank again. I tried
to change the address to 192.168.0.190, I still get the blank address boxes
when I go back to look at properties again and an IPCONFIG/ALL shows me
connected to both 192.168.0.215 and .190 as preferred connections. Any ideas
?

Thanks Robert,
I've had a read through various of the articles but nothing is exactly
the problem that I have. I've tried a few suggestions there but still the
same problem.

Before the IPaddress went blank I had selected 192.168.0.190 as the
preferred IP address, 192.168.0.215 was what I was using before. I don't
know where the 192.168.0.10 comes from, it has just appeared

It seems to me you use static IP. Can you use DHCP? If not, may sure you
assign just one IP address. To do that, open the properties of the LAN.
Select IPv4>Alternate configuration, make sure other IP address. Please post
back with the result.

I don't have access to an alternate configuration tab. Has this been removed
from Vista? Is there some setting I need to apply to make it available? I use
a static IP address (and DNS server) when at work but at home I use DHCP to
get assigned addresses. Right now I have to manually alter settings when
switching between netoworks. The alt-config tab is simply not available on my
system (Vista Home Premium) as it was on my old system when running XP Pro.

Do you have 3rd party security software running? Or this post may help.
