TCP/IP problem

DHCP enabled but the computer won't communicate with the DHCP server to
gather IP address, etc. In DOS at ipconfig/renew I get "can't contact DHCP
server".

I brought the PC home from an office with a server with a Network adapter -
it worked there fine. I have a laptop at home on High Speed...no connection
issues. I plug the same CAT5 cable into this PC and no connectivity. I tried
many things but I'm an amateur.

Thanks for any help.

Where is the DHCP? Posting the result of ipconfig /all may help.
