To configure TCP/IP security:

double-click Network and Dial-up Connections.
2.. Right-click the interface on which you want to configure inbound
access control, and then click Properties.
3.. In the Components checked are used by this connection box, click
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
4.. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, click
Advanced.
5.. Click the Options tab.
6.. Click TCP/IP filtering, and then click Properties.
TCP/IP filtering (#6. above) does not show on my modem properties. Should
it?
If it should how do I get it in? It IS in the properties for my LAN card
which is at present not used.

I don't use a modem, but my understanding is that it is not located
on dial adapters. Ip filtering was never meant to be a firewall but
another line of defense for a dedicated server environment. I would
suggest you try a personal firewall. There are many feee ones for
personal use. --- Steve
Already well covered by firewall, AV and others. the reason I asked was that
I wished to learn about TCP/IP Filtering.
Thanks for your reply.
