tasmanager minimizes to system tray "sometimes" very frustrating...

Whenever I configure an XP machine I run minimized task manager at
bootup and set the options to minimize it to the system tray so the
green box with CPU util is always there. In XP it seems to work about
30% of the time (actually appearing in the system tray), and will now
always stay there.

I'm sure others have seen this, but has anyone found a reason, or
better yet, a way to make it always appear in the system tray? Have
checked hidden icons list and have switched it to "always show", but
it doesn't seem to cooperate.

Inconsistent behavior in icons appearing in the notification area at system
start up is a common issue in XP. One fix is to disable one or the other or
both of these two services:

SSDP Discovery Service
UPnP service.

Both services are not used in the typical XP setup. Note, these have
nothing to do with the Universal Plug and Play.

Go to Start | Run | services.msc. Disable one of these at a time and reboot
to see what helps.
