Tasks not running in Scheduler

I am a heavy user of the Task Scheduler (in XPPro). I have a number of
MSAccess macros scheduled using the command line switch .....access.exe
......xxx.mdb /x "macroname".

After months they have stopped running and if I try to mannually run the
task the "Run" option is grayed out. They will not run.

Can someone explain what happened so I can prevent the failure in the future?

Can they be repaired or due I need to delete and build new tasks?

Thanks in advance.

Your first step should be to ascertain if the tasks are damaged
or if you have a problem with the Task Scheduler itself.
Creating & running a test task will tell you straight away.

Thanks for your reply. Altogether I have about 30 tasks scheduled in
sequence every morning. Those that are not Access macros are either *.bat
files or *.vbs files. The Access command lines are the only ones that quit
running. I have tested the macros, they work if run manually.

Are you saying that those tasks that invoke an MS Access command
line have the "Run" box greyed out, and that those that invoke batch
or script files have the Run Box enabled? This sounds unbelievably
strange.

Yes, when opening the properties of all the scheduled tasks, all are
enabled. Early this morning all tasks ran on schedule with the exception of
those command line tasks scheduled to fire the Access macros in different
*.MDBs.

When I right click on those Access tasks, the "Run" option is grayed out.
Any of the others the "Run" option is available.

You mentioned "Damaged" tasks. Before I just delete and re-create all the
Access command line tasks I was hoping to determine what might have happened
so as to prevent the re-occurrence.

As I said in my first reply, you need to create some test tasks
in order to home in on the cause of the problem. I have no
magic wand that I can wave to reveal the likely cause.
